Xbox LIVE is being discontinued for Xbox Original Titles :(

Microsoft announced yesterday that all online support for original xbox games, such as Halo 2, Star Wars Battlefront 2, Counter Strike, Splinter Cell etc.. are going to be shut down permanently on the 15th of April. This is a huge shock to me and many other long time Xbox fans, as I still play Halo 2 from time to time. It holds a special place in my gaming heart. More information can be found at this link:

aw come on Microsoft why would you do this.i know many people dont go on anymore but there are still people that still go on.

that is rubbish, I loved playing H2 with my mates, Lockout FFA was amaaazing Sad to see it go, might play a few games before it goes off (if it hasn't already).

Just as a bit of news, if anyone who transferred their Xbox Live 1.0 gamertag onto the 360 and played Halo 2, you may receive an email to get access to the Reach Beta when XbL 1.0 closes, along with free 3 months of Live and 400 MS Points.

Yep, I just got this email the other day. At least they're being considerate
