| Personally, I think Mac. I love the OS, and just the mac system in general. At the end of the day, go for what YOU want xD. | |

| As Sam said, it's down to opinion entirely, and what you're going to be using it for. The Macbook air, for example, doesn't have a disc drive, so you can't install much software. It is good, however, if you're going to be moving around a lot with it. I think that if you want a Mac, then a Macbook Pro would be a better choice. Mac's really shine when being used for designing, or editing, so if you're really into media, then a Mac is a good choice. The Sony Vaio is a good all round Windows laptop, and out of the 3, i would personally go for it. It depends which model you go for I don't have any experience whatsoever with Alienware. All i know is that it's a gaming laptop. If you're looking for a gaming system, then i would go for a desktop PC, as you're getting more bang for your buck. Could you give me the specs for the Alienware and Sony Vaio laptops that you're considering, so i can give further opinions on them? Thanks a lot - Chazza | |

| Alienware are pretty powerful laptops too. If you want edit LOTS of stuff, alienware or mac I would say. I use a PC to edit, but it's a massive gaming rig (will post specs soon) so I don't worry about program CPU usage or space. | |

Yeah, i use my laptop for editing and web design, and it's not particularly powerful (4GB RAM, 2.1GHz dual core), and it works a charm. I also play some games on it (TF2, HL2, L4D etc..). So it really depends what he wants the laptop for.

| As said many times, its all down to what you want, I love Mac, and I cant wait till my iMac gets delivered, But what I've read about the Macbook Air, isnt good, and Alienware just cost way too much, so for this, I say go for a Sony Vaio. Sony Vaio have good build quality and though not as powerfull as Alienware, they are good machines. | |

I agree with this. But it really does depend on what his financial situation is, as well as his needs. - Chazza
